At a glance
- We handle account and profile information, company details, uploaded documents, AI conversations, and service activity to help founders prepare and share fundraising materials.
- A shared data room records visits, document activity, IP addresses, browser information, and confidentiality acknowledgments. The company sharing the room can see activity reports.
- AI features send relevant inputs to AI providers. A Meta advertising pixel can also send page visits and device information to Meta when enabled.
- Deleted data-room documents have a 30-day recovery window before becoming eligible for permanent removal. Separate records and downloaded copies can have different retention periods.
- Your rights depend on applicable law. Contact lynn@raisefunding.ai to ask about access, correction, deletion, portability, or an objection to processing.
This policy covers the RaiseFunding.ai website, accounts, fundraising readiness tools, data rooms, investor sharing, AI features, and communications with our team. It applies to founders, team members, investors, and website visitors. ‘We’ means RaiseFunding.ai and ‘you’ means the person using these services.
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
RaiseFunding.ai helps companies become investor-ready and manage fundraising materials.
RaiseFunding.ai provides fundraising-readiness tools, data rooms, AI assistance, and advisory workflows. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to lynn@raisefunding.ai.
We determine how account, website, support, and service-operation information is used. When a customer uploads personal information about its team, investors, customers, or other people, that customer may determine why it is processed and we may process it on the customer’s behalf. In that case, the customer’s instructions and any agreed data processing agreement also apply.
This policy does not cover independent websites or services reached through external links. Their own privacy notices apply.
2. Information we collect
The information depends on the features you use and the content you provide.
Fundraising documents can contain confidential business information and personal information about other people. Upload only information you are authorized to provide and that is needed for your fundraising work.
- Account and authentication information: email address, sign-in credentials handled by our authentication provider, account identifiers, and sign-in or account-status records.
- Profile and team information: names, roles, biographies, responsibilities, avatars, professional links, invitation email addresses, and membership permissions. If you upload a LinkedIn PDF, we process its professional history, skills, and any location details it contains.
- Company and fundraising information: company name, fundraising stage and target, diagnostic answers, readiness scores, advisor notes, and deal information.
- Files and AI inputs: uploaded documents and their metadata, prompts, conversations, generated materials, and AI analysis results. Files may include financial statements, capitalization tables, legal agreements, and employee or investor details.
- Investor activity: share-link settings, recipient labels, visits, section and document openings, downloads, timestamps, IP addresses, browser details, and NDA acknowledgment events.
- Service and website activity: features used, navigation paths, event labels, technical logs, browser and device information, and cookie or advertising identifiers when applicable.
- Communications: your name, email address, optional company name, message content, and related support or advisory correspondence.
3. How we collect information
You provide information directly, and some activity is recorded as you use the service.
We receive information when you register, complete a diagnostic, edit a profile, invite a team member, upload a file, use an AI feature, create or open a share link, or contact us.
We record technical and activity information through server requests, service events, authentication cookies, data-room tracking, and the Meta pixel when configured. A customer may also provide your information through a team invitation, recipient label, or uploaded document.
An uploaded LinkedIn export is supplied by you. The profile extraction feature processes that file; it does not require access to your LinkedIn account.
4. How we use information
We use information to operate the features you request and manage the service.
We use information for the purposes below. Any materially different purpose needs its own assessment and, where required, additional notice or consent.
- Create accounts, authenticate users, manage team permissions, and enforce access restrictions.
- Calculate and review fundraising readiness, organize files, produce guidance, and support advisory engagements.
- Process relevant files and conversations through AI features, and save the resulting analysis or materials.
- Share selected materials with recipients, apply confidentiality gates, and report room engagement to the company that shared it.
- Answer messages, deliver account and team notifications, and provide support.
- Analyze feature activity to identify confusing workflows and prioritize service improvements.
- Detect misuse, investigate security issues, maintain operational records, and meet applicable legal obligations.
- When the Meta pixel is enabled, measure advertising performance and support advertising audiences using website activity.
5. Legal bases for processing
Where the law requires a legal basis, it must match the particular purpose.
Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, processing needed to provide your account and requested features may be based on performance of a contract. Security, support, and limited service improvement may rely on legitimate interests after considering your rights. Required recordkeeping may rely on a legal obligation.
Processing that requires consent, including certain advertising technologies, must rely on a valid choice you can withdraw. Agreeing to terms of service does not by itself provide consent for all data uses.
When we act as a processor for a customer, we process personal information under that customer’s lawful instructions and the applicable data processing agreement.
7. International transfers
Providers may process information outside your country.
Your information may be processed in countries where we or our providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws.
Contact lynn@raisefunding.ai for information about the processing locations and transfer arrangements applicable to your data.
8. Retention and deletion
A deleted data-room document has a 30-day recovery window before it becomes eligible for permanent removal.
We keep account and company information while needed to provide the service, address support or security matters, or meet applicable recordkeeping duties. Retention depends on the type of information, its purpose, and any applicable legal requirements.
When a data-room document is moved to Deleted Documents, it is retained for 30 days so an authorized administrator can restore it. After that window, it becomes eligible for permanent removal by the cleanup process. Removal can occur after the window rather than at its exact end, for example if cleanup needs to retry.
Deleting a document does not necessarily erase separate AI analyses, activity records, or copies already downloaded by recipients. Disabling an account restricts access and does not itself delete its information. Contact us about a broader deletion request.
Information subject to a legal preservation requirement may need to be retained longer. Backup and provider copies have separate deletion cycles, so removal from every copy may not be immediate.
9. Your privacy rights
You can contact us about your information; available rights depend on applicable law.
Email lynn@raisefunding.ai with your request and enough detail for us to locate the relevant account or record. We may need to verify your identity and authority, but you should not send a password or unnecessary identity documents. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and explain any permitted restriction or refusal.
Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, rights may include access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, objection to certain processing, withdrawal of consent, and a complaint to your supervisory authority. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Where the CCPA or another US state privacy law applies to our business and your information, rights may include knowing or accessing the categories and specific information held about you, deletion, correction, and opting out of covered sales, targeted advertising, or sharing. Additional rights, including restrictions on sensitive information, appeals, and authorized-agent requests, depend on the applicable law. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a right.
If your information was supplied by a customer whose data room you visited or whose documents include your information, that customer may be responsible for answering your request. We can help identify the appropriate contact and assist as required.
Readiness scores and AI suggestions support review of fundraising materials. The service does not itself make an investment decision or guarantee an investment outcome.
11. Security
Access controls help protect information, but no service can guarantee absolute security.
The service uses authentication, role-based permissions, company access controls, restricted file access, and configurable share-link restrictions. Authorized administrators and advisors may access customer information to perform their work.
Keep your credentials and share links secure, review recipient and team permissions, and report suspected unauthorized access to lynn@raisefunding.ai. No technical or organizational measure can guarantee that information will never be lost or accessed without authorization.
12. Children’s privacy
The service is intended for adults conducting business fundraising activities.
RaiseFunding.ai is intended for people aged 18 or older and is not directed to children. Do not create an account for a child or upload children’s personal information without an appropriate lawful basis and authorization.
If you believe a child has supplied personal information through the service, contact lynn@raisefunding.ai so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
13. Contact and requests
Use lynn@raisefunding.ai for privacy questions and requests.
Send privacy, support, security, and data-rights questions to lynn@raisefunding.ai. Include the relevant account email or company name and a description of your request.
14. Changes to this policy
The date above identifies the latest update to this policy.
We will update the date shown with this policy when its text changes. We will communicate material changes through an appropriate channel, such as email, an in-product notice, or a website notice, and provide any notice or request any renewed consent required by law.
